Welcome To Kilmallie Scout Group!
We’re Do-ers and Give-it-a-go-ers. There’s a place for everyone here. No matter who you are, where you come from, whatever your ability and whatever you look like. We do it all at Scouts. From helping our community to learning how to get back up and try again.
Kilmallie Scout Group is based in Corpach and serves the wider Fort William community. We've got a long history- going back as far as as 1911 when the founder of The Scouts- Baden-Powel himself visited the area. We've been here ever since in one form or another.
Today, we have more than 60 members aged between 6 and 18 who take part in weekly meetings to learn valuable skills for life. We believe firmly in learning by doing, and in taking responsibility for yourself and your peers (with plenty of adult support of course!). Our program of activities is varied, and focuses on equipping our members with the skills and mindset they need to get the most our of life. In the summer months you'll find us hiking around the mountains, exploring mountain bike trails, camping out under the stars and enjoying plenty of time in nature. During the winter, we focus on the team working skills it takes to pull off big adventures, as well things like cooking, map reading, rope work and how to do the washing up! We also take a keen interest in making the world around us a nicer place to live, and we spend time learning about how other people live, and doing our bit to give back to our communities.
Sound like your cup of tea? Why not get in touch to find out joining up, or to learn how you can support our work by volunteering!
